We do not offer an undergraduate bachelor's degree in entomology. However, this minor and our undergraduate certificate will give you the advanced skills needed for careers and graduate programs related to insect biology.
About the Minor in Entomology
The Entomology minor provides you with advanced knowledge and skills in insect-related fields, preparing you for graduate programs and careers at the intersection of insects, environmental science, health, and society, where expertise in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and insect-borne diseases is highly valuable.
By completing this minor, you'll gain hands-on experience through an internship, research or capstone project to help set yourself apart.
Minor Requirements

- Minimum units required: 18
- ENTO 415R Insect Biology (3 units)
- Research or Education Experience (3 units)
- Electives: review the checklist for a list of course options (12 units)
- ENTO 407 Insect Discovery can be used for the research/education experience or as an elective course, but not both.
- Up to 9 units of Gen Ed courses (ENTO 160D1, ENTO 170C2) can be applied towards the Minor.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 required to declare admission to this minor.
