To preserve the efficacy of pest control tactics including genetically engineered crops and insecticides, we apply evolutionary principles to develop and implement resistance management strategies that delay or even prevent evolution of resistance by pests.
We monitor resistance in field populations and use computer simulation modeling to integrate empirical data on the genetics of resistance, fitness costs, refuges that enable survival of susceptible pests and other key factors.
